People Get Ready is an independent bookstore

that is 50% Black-owned and 100% Woman-owned,

and is located in the Greater New Haven area.

Our in-store book selections intentionally reflect the demographics of the surrounding community.

We are closed for in-store browsing while in transition to our original store location. We encourage customers who would like direct shipping to support us through our Bookshop store. We are still taking orders for in-stock titles via this website as well as allowing customers to redeem PGR-issued gift cards by contacting the store directly.
